This airline was a subsiduary of Root Co. of Daytona Beach, FL. Shawnee began scheduled commuter service from Herndon Airport, Orlando, FL. They served Ft. Lauderdale and Jacksonville and West Palm Beach as well as Freeport and Nassau in the Behamas. They flew the DC-3, M-404 and the Beech 45 and Beech E 8S. Strong competition from Mackay to the Bahamas and Florida Airlines in Florida lead to its decline.
